£1000 grant for hiring a graduate from October 1st, for a minimum of three months

26 Nov 2012

An incentive grant of £1,000, available through SEMTA, supports employment and training of graduates in UK advanced manufacturing and engineering SMEs .

The aim is to take young graduates off the unemployment register, and into paid and productive employment, resulting in them becoming economically active and contributing to UK Plc.

Funding from the UK Commission for Employment and Skills' Employer Investment Fund will deliver genuine reductions in youth unemployment by March 2013. Currently only 15% of SMEs in Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering employ graduates, the ambition is to see this rise to 17% over the next three years.

To qualify SME companies need to hire a graduate, starting work after 1st October for a minimum of 3 months,  and then apply to SEMTA.
