'Final Lap in Racing History?' - MIA contributes to an article in the Northampton Chronicle & Echo

Triple Formula 1 world champion Jackie Stewart recently described Silverstone race circuit as a “jewel” in the heart of “motorsport valley”. The circuit has a place at the centre of a cluster of motorsport engineering and supply companies in Northamptonshire, Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire and the surrounding counties that cannot be coincidental. And with potentially the final British Grand Prix at the venue which has been its predominant home for more than 60 years now just days away, many will be wondering what the knock-on effect of its loss will be on the collection of companies which has made Motorsport Valley its home.

Of first concern is the circuit itself. As the biggest event on Silverstone’s calendar, the British Grand Prix draws huge crowds and there are fears its loss to Donington may mark the beginning of Silverstone’s demise, something the circuit’s owners strongly refute.
