Over 50 MIA members attended a Business to Business event hosted by Bloodhound SSC (a new MIA member) at Coventry Transport Museum last Tuesday (17th February). The focus of the event was to update MIA members on the current status of the bloodhound project and to encourage members to become involved as technical partners. Those present heard how the following members, as industry leaders in their respective areas, are involved in supplying bespoke solutions to the 1000mph vehicle:
- Visioneering – construction of a full-scale mock-up
- Advanced Fuel Systems – fuel bladders
- DC Electronics – wiring looms
- Goodridge – fuel lines and hoses
- Servo Interconnect - connectors
- MCT – V12 fuel pump
Following the presentations, a networking reception took place in the museum halls where Thrust2 and Thrust SSC are housed, providing a stunning environment for networking to take place and new contacts to be made. Please see photos from the evening by clicking here.
An interesting and productive evening was had by all, the MIA wishing to thank the Bloodhound team for helping to host such a successful event.
Richard Aucock of Motoring Research had the following to say about the event, “Many thanks indeed - FYI, it was an exceptional event, one that once again proves the immense value of the MIA to the industry. You're helping in tough times as well as good, reformulating your approach to best serve your members, and for this you deserve utmost praise and recognition. I will be sure to spread the message where and when I can!”
