Just 15 minutes on https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov is all you need to secure travel clearance, from the US Department of Homeland Security, under their new Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) . The internet process is FREE and very easy, so DO NOT PAY any third party to do this for you. Companies can register all their regular travellers in this way.
All citizens in countries covered by the Visa Waiver Programme, using the well-known Green Form, get the benefit online of up to TWO YEARS clearance…there is no need to show any hotel or flight information at this stage of registration.
IF you enjoy last minute panic, then you must allow, at least, 72 hours before any travel to the USA to secure approval…but we suggest you DO IT NOW.
