At the AGM of the Motorsport Industry Association (MIA) Malcolm Wilson, founder and CEO of M-Sport, the World Championship Rally squad of Ford, was elected to join the Executive Committee. He was joined by Iain Wight, Business Development Director Motorsport, of Ricardo, providers of cutting edge transmission systems in motorsport.
“Our Committee provides strategic guidance and vision which benefits our wider membership” says Alistair Fergusson, Chairman of the MIA and MD of Alcon. “Ricardo is well connected with both defence and automotive industries – two sectors which are proving vital in our programme of diversifying motorsport companies into new sectors. M-Sport, led so capably by Malcolm Wilson, is able to bring their knowledge of the World Rally Championship (WRC) and also the booming road performance car market with their Ford RS programme. Their knowledge and vision will help guide the MIA plans for the future”.
Jim Morris of Lifeline Fire and Safety Systems was elected Vice-Chairman of the MIA for the up-coming year.
