Jason Plato has been declared the winner of the HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship’s third race at Brands Hatch after officials penalised Jonathan Adam who had crossed the line in first position.
Jason was named by Tim Harvey as Driver of the Day and the 22 points collected see him currently in 4th position in the Drivers standings.
After the race Jason commented “Last Wednesday morning I resigned myself to the fact I’d be spending today fitting a new bathroom in my house! But then came ‘the call’ and I was suddenly packing my race kit. The RML team has worked miracles all weekend and we’re still figuring out what really makes the car tick. We’ve had zero testing before this weekend so to get a win is beyond what we ever realistically thought possible. It’s a cracking result and gives us a huge lift as we look ahead”.
Ray Mallock was equally pleased with the result. He said ““It was a fairy tale start and we are all working hard to find the sponsors to give Jason and the team the opportunity to build on the 4th place and bring home the championship”.
