TTXGP Announces Line Up for the World’s Zero Carbon eGrandPrix

Wednesday 8th April – 5.30 for 6.30pm (GMT+1)
Savoy Place, London, England

The Isle of Man TT Motorcycle race celebrated its 100th birthday in 2007. Originally founded to encourage and stimulate the development of motor vehicles, 2009 will see a radical innovation to take the race into its second century.  TTXGP is running a zero emission motorcycle road race as part of TT Race series in June 2009. All bikes must comply with the stringent rules which preclude any harmful emissions and the use of any carbon based fuel.

At midnight on March 31, 2009, the TTXGP, the world’s first zero-carbon eGrandPrix closed for entries.

The TTXGP is to announce full team and rider details for the first time at its official launch, due to take place at the IET’s Savoy Place on April 8, 2009. The IET are the official technical advisors to TTXGP, providing advice through a designated technical panel, members of which are leading figures in the world of alternative technology. Members of this panel will also provide the scrutineering facility on race day.

Team TTXGP will also give a talk covering the background behind the race and how it is intended to provoke a step change in the development, commercialisation and acceptance of zero emission vehicles for everyday use, as well as inspiring a new generation of engineers to step up and address the challenges and problems of the 21st Century.

This event is to be broadcast live on iet.tv  at 6.30pm BST (GMT +1)  with a chat room facility available to enable you to interact and ask questions of the speaker in the Q&A session.
