A Worlds first in interactive broadcast. Real Time Race delivered the first ever interactive television experience to the Managing Director of NASCAR and his management team.
Why a world first? The team used their broadcast system to capture a track in Charlotte, USA. The data was transmitted 3800 miles to the UK and was then was processed at Media City in Manchester using proprietary software and then immediately back 3800 miles over to the internet.
Dave Sim from Real Time race who managed the project on location had concerns over the weather and the quality of the untested data link. "Rain is one thing we are prepared for but torrential downpours and lightning is another matter altogether."
The presentation to NASCAR executives was then made at the new state of the art NASCAR media group headquarters in North Carolina.
