"I am writing to introduce myself as the new Head of Automotive, replacing Ian Lockhart, in the UKTI Advanced Manufacturing Directorate in the new Strategic Trade Group. As some of you know, Ian is moving to China in the Summer to be the Head of Advanced Engineering and Transport in UKTI in Beijing.
A good number of you know me already. I am moving across from doing the aerospace role in the UKTI Advanced Engineering team. I have 15 years of experience of trade work within UK Government and a wide range of sector experience having worked in the water, marine, engineering and aerospace sectors.
Currently, I am leading the work on the UKTI Advanced Engineering Sector Business Summit at the British Business Embassy at Lancaster House, which has a strong automotive element.
As well as automotive, I shall also be leading sector work on motorsport , high performance engineering and marine, where I know there are technology crossovers between all these sectors that we can develop.
Georgina Watts and Stefano Hoyland will continue to lead automotive and motorsport and high performance engineering inward investment work in UKTI. I know them both and will work closely with them.
