These are tough times when many of good motorsport people may need help, which BEN can provide.
The story of James...
“ames worked as an independent technician in Motorsport, and even, for a short while, had his own Motorcycle racing team. Unfortunately he became unable to work because of severe rheumatoid arthritis. Sadly, after this his marriage broke down, he left the family home to live in a tower block in central London.
Sometime after this, he took on the care of his five year old daughter Sara, who has a congenital heart disease. Both James and Sara spend a lot of time at, or in hospital, and BEN provides help to them both, with their transport costs.
In 2003, James came to us, at the age of 46, asking for help towards the cost of a specialist computer. We agreed as it would be easy for him to use, and help him to keep in touch with people.
Since then, we have also helped with decorating his flat, and, when he became too poorly to drive, provided help with the cost of driving lessons for his carer. During 2009, we paid for both James and Sara to have a short break away together, after a difficult year for them.
James is an amazing Dad to Sara, coping in very difficult circumstances, and BEN is very happy to support him.
Please watch the video and hear what Lewis and Ross have to say.....make sure motorsport people, in need, know of this support and consider how you can add your help to BEN...
