As an international pop star, Boyzone's Shane Lynch is well accustomed to stadium performances. However, the Irish singing sensation will be putting on a different show at Autosport International, the world's greatest motorsport show, when he trades his microphone for a Maxxis British Drift Championship car to light up Birmingham's National Exhibition Centre (NEC) on 12-15 January 2012.
The multi-platinum selling boy band member first took on the challenge of drifting in 2007 and has proven to be as talented on the track as he is on stage, taking victories in both the European Drift Championship and Maxxis British Drift Championship.
Lynch will be thrilling the crowds on 14-15 January 2012 in the Live Action Arena, the UK's largest indoor race track, with a tyre smoking and powersliding demonstration in his Team Japspeed Nissan Silvia S15, powered by a V8 twin turbo engine.
Motorsport and music fans alike will also be able to meet Shane at exclusive autograph sessions throughout the weekend, which will take place at the Maxxis Tyres stand.
"This is the second year I've been asked to perform in the Live Action Arena and I can't wait to get the part started!" commented Shane Lynch. "Autosport International is a fantastic day out for fans of all types of motorsport, and I can't think of a better way to launch my sixth season of competitive drifting."
Lynch is not the only famous face confirmed for Autosport International 2012. F1 is strongly represented with new talent Paul Di Resta and commentators Jake Humphrey and David Coulthard, all of whom will be appearing on the Autosport Stage.
Autosport International will celebrate all forms of motorsport through stunning displays including the F1 Racing Grid, where contemporary Grand Prix machinery will be showcased, a tribute to Britain's rallying heroes and an enticing supercar paddock at The Performance Car Show: powered by PistonHeads.com.
