Many thanks to all members who kindly, and very generously, supported and sponsored Jayne Thomas and Clare Stone in their plan to compete in the Great North Run – they both really appreciated this.
Jayne was extremely pleased with her effort to finish in 2 hours 28 minutes in her first event of this kind. Between them, Clare and Jayne raised £1,000 for Breast Cancer Care and £800 for Breast Cancer Campaign. They have now “got the bug” and plan to enter more runs in 2010. Jayne has already started her training plan to compete in her first full marathon next April, and invites other MIA members to join her in this personal challenge.
