Coventry Festival of Motoring: Future Transport Expo

30 Jan 2012

Coventry Festival of Motoring: Future Transport Expo
Bank Holiday Weekend: 25th – 26th August 2012

Coventry Festival of Motoring has taken place almost every year for over 25 years under various names. Having grown in popularity year on year, the festival now attracts:

  • Around 600 participants and their cars, buses and motorbikes on the historic vehicle run
  • Over 20,000 visitors who come to the park to enjoy a Sunday of family entertainment and to welcome the participants back to the park on their return

The festival has been so successful that it has outgrown its home at Coventry’s War Memorial Park and from 2012 onwards will move to a new home at the prestigious Stoneleigh Park. This change of venue offers a world of new opportunities for Coventry Festival of Motoring to introduce many new elements to the show over the entire weekend, attract even more visitors and further increase its reputation as a highlight of the classic motoring calendar.

Future of Transport Expo
For many years the Coventry Festival of Motoring has been a fantastic celebration of Coventry and Warwickshire’s transport heritage. The move to Stoneleigh Park allows us to fulfil another ambition: to showcase the incredible range of transport innovations that are being developed and produced across our region today. The Future of Transport Expo will take place throughout the whole weekend, in the indoor facilities at Stoneleigh, and will give companies from the Coventry & Warwickshire area a unique opportunity to shout about what they do and illustrate the vibrancy of the region’s transport sector.

Hosted in conjunction with Coventry University’s internationally renowned transport design and engineering departments the Future of Transport Expo will showcase some of the most exciting innovations in the transport sector – both now and in the coming decades. Key themes would include:

  • Exciting new vehicles already on the market
  • The shift to lower carbon motoring through electric, hybrid and hydrogen powered vehicles
  • Redesigning the car: new concepts for smarter mobility
  • The resurgence of the transport industry in Coventry and Warwickshire

The Expo aims to promote both new vehicles and new technologies with an emphasis on showcasing the capabilities of the Coventry and Warwickshire region and how innovation here is feeding national and international developments in transport.
Coventry University and the Festival of Motoring are now speaking to organisations who may be interested in taking part in the Expo. Exhibition space will be free of charge* and is available on a first-come-first-served basis. If you are interested in exhibiting at the Future of Transport Expo or would like more information please contact Claire Edwards at Coventry University on
