Hosted by SMMT in conjunction with the Transport KTN, The Electronics KTN, UK National Contact Points for FP7 funding and the European Commission, this event will provide a great opportunity to learn about and engage with significant funding opportunities.
This summer more than €60m funding will be announced for research on electric vehicles. A multi-part call for proposals will be made by under The European Green Cars initiative - one of the three Public Private Partnerships included in the Commission's recovery package launched in 2009. This includes:
ICT for fully electric vehicles: Targeting issues including energy efficiency, safety, driving range, costs of the electronic components and the overall FEV, together with increased competitiveness for relevant European industrial sectors. The call will specifically address:
- Energy/Power Storage Systems
- Architectures for Energy, Communication and Thermal Management
- Vehicle-to-grid Interface (V2G)
- Vehicle Stability Control
Research on electric and hybrid vehicles: Treating electric vehicles as a full part of the transport system addressing specific and essential topics:
- Electric vehicle safety issues
- Addressing hazards such as electric in use, charging, maintenance, and rescue and those arising from quietness of operation
- Integrated thermal management in the Electric Vehicle
- In all phases of operation, for all system components including energy storage, power train operation and passenger comfort
- Advanced eco-design and manufacturing processes for batteries and electrical components
- Addressing large scale production of batteries and electrical and other system components with good performances and at the lowest possible cost
There is an opportunity to make applications for European R&D Funding which is directly relevant to your business. SMMT is hosting the event on the 28th June at Forbes House in London bringing you:
- together with funding National Contact Points who will share how to apply and key points for a successful application, plus most importantly the detail of the calls being made this summer,
- together with those experienced in making successful applications and researching collaboratively,
- together with likeminded companies, your potential research partners.
The event programme can be found in the events section of the SMMT website.
