An invitation to formulate and participate in the Advanced Multi-Physics Modelling & Simulation - Technology Dissemination Project

Thursday 2nd June 2011 at 09.00 – 13.00

International Digital Lab, WMG, The University of Warwick

An opportunity for West Midlands based SMEs to access world leading academic and industrial expertise in advanced systems modelling and simulation.

The complexity of products is growing rapidly with many opportunities for companies that are established as systems developers, integrators and OEMs.

One of the biggest challenges is the robust functional design, integration and validation of systems such as:

  • Energy storage & power distribution
  • Supervisory control
  • Transmissions
  • Power electronics & electric drives
  • Air conditioning

Multi-physical modelling enables integration of electrical, mechanical and hydraulic systems with the control systems to optimise system performance, reduce technical risk and costs.

Application examples include prediction of losses in gearboxes, vehicle dynamics simulation for driveability and electronic control system development for hydraulic test rigs in aerospace
