Networking and face-to-face meetings are still the most popular way of conducting business according to the latest research from Barclaycard Commercial Business Travel.
The 13th annual study of 2,200 senior and mid-level management found that 85 per cent consider face-to-face business meetings more effective than using technologies such as video and web conferencing.
Despite tightened budgets, maintaining relationships remains critical with three quarters of respondents expecting to travel more or the same amount this year compared to 2008.
Commenting on the findings, MIA CEO, Chirs Aylett says, "People still value human connections and the power of face-to-face meetings. The desire to meet face-to-face to do business is as strong as ever."
