The Formula One season opening race in Bahrain saw a staggering 40% increase compared with the 2009 race in key European markets.
The Live race audience in Germany nearly doubled to 10,510,000 and UK, France, Italy and Spain also saw significant increases.
Nigel Geach, Director of MIA Member IFM Sports Marketing Surveys commented “Formula One continues to have huge interest around the world and with the return of Michael Schumacher, the excitement of two World Champions in the McLaren team and Alonso in a competitive Ferrari, audiences have bucked the trend of other sports – 2010 will be an exceptional season for sponsors and teams”.
