Free SMMT webinar - opportunities for Electric Vehicles in the UK

10:30-11:00 - Thursday 20 May 2010

The next webinar in the SMMT series will focus on the topic of Electric Vehicles, potential for EVs in the UK market and what actions SMMT is taking to assist this emerging market.

More than 15 brands of Electric Vehicles (EVs) are already on the road in the UK and the number of EVs is set to rise significantly. Similarly, extensive infrastructure plans are in place: many people think that EV infrastructure can't support the rise in EVs, yet 11,000 charge posts will be installed by 2013 in three UK locations alone. This compares to the dwindling number of UK patrol stations which currently stands at 10,000. These are just two factors which suggest the industry for electric vehicles is growing in the UK, something which SMMT is embracing and taking a proactive approach to support.

SMMT chief executive, Paul Everitt will chair the event and provide an update on the latest industry developments.  Catherine Hutt, business development manager of electric vehicles at SMMT, will give an update on UK activity and what the SMMT is doing to support the industry.

The session will last for approximately 30 minutes, followed by a question and answer session. Participants are invited to join in from the comfort of their own office. To register please click here, fill in your details and your joining instructions will be e-mailed to you.
