The Birmingham Chamber of Commerce is organising and running NINE fully subsidised study visits for representatives of West Midlands automotive SMEs to visit other EU regions and countries.
Highlights include a visit to Audi at Ingolstadt, the Mini Plant at Oxford, JLR Halewood to look at their manufacturing processes, a visit to the Piedmont automotive cluster in Italy around Turin, where around 40% of Italian automotive production, primarily based on activities by and for the Fiat group, takes place, as well as MIRA to see their engineering and test facilities and access their expertise in Intelligent transport systems, low carbon transport technologies and advanced powertrain systems,
Companies can learn about new systems, processes and solutions that could benefit their business, share best practice with other organisations, and help develop collaborative partnerships and opportunities. This scheme also includes UK visits to businesses outside the West Midlands. The key goal is to strengthen automotive industry performance through regional and European collaboration, and the scheme is part of the ERDF Collaborating Automotive Regions (CAR) project .
Further information on each of the valuable visits and how to apply is available through the CAR website at: www.easn.eu/projects-we-are-working-on/study-visits/.
There are still places available and the Chamber wants to ensure that the West Midlands gets the best possible benefit from this opportunity.
