TSB have various calls for funding these include: highly innovative strategic technologies in low carbon, batteries for low and ultra low carbon vehicles and vehiclesdisruptive technologies in low carbon vehicles.

The Technology Strategy Board is launching a £9m competition as part of the Integrated Delivery Programme, with up to £8m aimed at collaborative research and development and up to £1m aimed at feasibility studies.
This document covers industry-led collaborative R&D projects focused on achieving significant cuts in CO2 emissions for vehicle-centric technologies in low carbon vehicles.

The competition will be open to all road-based transport and will fund technology areas defined by the Automotive Council as having strategic importance for the UK:

• internal combustion engines
•energy storage and energy managemen
•lightweight vehicle and powertrain structures
•electric machines and power electronics.

TSB expect to provide £250k to £750k in funding per project. Projects may last up to three years and must be made up of consortia led by businesses.
