Having achieved unprecedented success with its unique business model in the United States, the Great American Stockcar Series has announced plans for international expansion. In only four years GASS has become the premier “Arrive and Race” program in America, hosting a 28 car field with national television coverage.
Unlike the various performance driving experience programs currently on the market in the USA, only GASS provides drivers with the opportunity to race in actual wheel-to-wheel competition.
GASS is real people racing real stockcars without the associated costs or time commitments of managing their own race team. To qualify, one only needs to be to be 45 years or older and have a passion for highly competitive auto racing.
Participants in GASS drive identically prepared high performance stockcars powered by custom built +400HP dry-sump pushrod V8’s with four-barrel Holley carburetors mated with 4 speed manual transmissions. As a nod to the manufacturer rivalries from the glory days of American stock car racing, drivers have the choice to run a Ford, Chevy or Dodge.
Former motorcycle and stockcar racer Chris Evans, founder of the Great American Stockcar Series sees the GASS model as the perfect program for qualified track owners and entrepreneur in Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
“We’ve integrated the best aspects of the top American series from NASCAR, IROC and IMSA into GASS and the result is the most affordable racing program available today. GASS provides the opportunity for anyone of age to participate in professional stockcar racing, whether for the first time in their lives or a continuation of their professional career” states Evans. “As we establish the program with our international partners, in addition to their regional series, GASS will promote a World Championship in various countries on an annual rolling basis.”
