The MIA is proud to be working with London Business Conferences as official summit partners at Global Automotive Lightweight Materials 2012, taking place at London’s Business Design Centre, April 25-26. The summit is set to be one of the key events in the Lightweighting calendar to come together and benchmark progress, assess remaining challenges and consider the most feasible routes to achieving scale.
A mixture of lightweight experts from vehicle OEMs will be presenting across the two days such as, BMW, Audi, McLaren Automotive, Jaguar Land Rover, Ford, TATA Motors, Fiat Group, General Motors, Toyota, Bugatti Automobiles, Nissan and VE Commercial Vehicles. These will be joined by key materials suppliers Teijin, Novelis, International Magnesium Group as well as key research and development institutes to deliver solutions to reduce the cost of sourcing, integrating and manufacturing lightweight materials to deliver improved fuel economy.
High strength steel, aluminium, magnesium, carbon fibre composites and more will all be broken down through a cost-reduction lens to forge a commercially viable strategy for introducing lightweight materials into or across your vehicle portfolio.
Across two days there will be rich and valuable networking to gain knowledge and share opinions to tackle the remaining challenges of sourcing, integrating and manufacturing lightweight materials.
