H&H, one of Europe's largest specialist auctioneers in classic and collector motor cars, motorcycles and automobilia are celebrating the completion of another incredibly successful auction at The Haynes International Motor Museum in Somerset. H&H generated sales of more than a million pounds worth of classic motor cars, motorcycles and automobilia.
The well attended auction that included buyers from South America and Asia set a number of world records, including smashing the 2008 world record achieved for a Brough Superior SS100 by some £120,000, fetching over £286,000! Other significant highlights included, H&H achieving £77,000 for the 1934 Alvis Speed 20SB Tourer and £40,700 for Jenson Button’s beautiful Honda S600.
The auction proved to be a very fruitful one, for current F1 world champion, Jenson Button with his two vehicles, the Honda S600 and the VW Kombi Van collectively achieving more than £57,000. The delighted new owners of Jenson’s beautiful Honda S600 have confirmed it will join the eclectic collection of cars displayed for all to see at the Caister Castle Museum in Norfolk along with Jim Clark’s Lotus and the very first Ford Fiesta.
Simon Hope, H&H’s charismatic Managing Director and head auctioneer, who only returned to the UK on Monday after finishing fourth in class, on the gruelling Peking to Paris rally commented:
