Former F1 World Champion Kimi Raikkonen will make his NASCAR Camping World Truck debut on Friday May 20 at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. He has created his own IceOne brand race team for rallying and motocross, and will race in selected NASCAR events, in an IceOne Racing Toyota Tundra, run by Kyle Busch Motorsports.
His teammate is owner Kyle Busch, plus Brian Ickler and Kasey Kahne who share the team's principal entry. The team recently moved into a new corporate headquarters in Mooresville, North Carolina.
Raikkonen is the latest in a series of F1 drivers to try NASCAR, including Juan Pablo Montoya, Scott Speed, Jacques Villeneuve, Nelson Piquet Jr. and Narain Karthikeyan.
Raikkonen plans to take part in a 10-event WRC programme and as many NASCAR events as he can fit in between them.
