In Memory of Evers Pearce

The service will take place on 16th October at 3 o’clock at St. Giles church in Noke, Oxfordshire.

The family have said that flowers can be sent although they think that Evers would have preferred donations to be made to the Evers Pearce Motorsport Hardship Fund.

Evers’ daughter has requested that black is not worn, the brighter the better!

In Memory of Evers Pearce

Oxford & Cherwell Valley College, management and Motorsport programme students alike, are going to miss Evers Pearce very badly.

Evers passed away following a heart attack last Friday morning (26 September), only 48 years old and still with so many students to teach and inspire.

Over the past several years and certainly since the MIA established the special interest groups representing the Employers (Motorsport Employers’ Group) and Educators (Motorsport Educators’ Forum), the two groups have worked closely in an effort to ensure the quality and relevance of the educational provision in the sector. Evers Pearce was in the very vanguard of that work.

His passion for his subject, his commitment to his students, his unshakeable belief in the rightness of what he and his College were about, even in times of considerable, externally inspired, frustration, will be why we long remember him.

Evers was only very recently married and spent whatever spare time he had with his wife at their home in the Isle of Man. There, last Friday, we lost a good man and the thoughts of the staff at the MIA and those Members who knew him are with his family and his extended OCVC family at this dreadful time……what a waste.
