13 Feb 2012

The British Marine Federation (BMF) supported by the Technology Strategy Board, is bringing buyers from the UK’s leading leisure and commercial boatbuilding sectors to meet UK suppliers at the first Marine Supply Chain Conference.

Leading UK companies, including Sunseeker International, Oyster, Sealine, Princess Yachts, Fairline, RNLI, Gunfleet Marine, Discovery Yachts and Marine Specialised Technology will be attending the event as buyers. This inaugural conference, to be held on 20 – 21 March at the Staverton Park Hotel, Daventry, will offer real business opportunities to suppliers large and small, providing them with a chance to speak directly with influential individuals in a professional and relaxed environment.

The Conference will begin with an evening reception followed by a keynote speech from Mike Chalkley, Engineering Director of Griffon Hoverwork. Wednesday 21 March will see one-to-one meetings taking place for suppliers to meet potential new customers, using the format of the highly successful BMF Meet the Buyer events. Running alongside the meetings, scheduled seminar sessions will be on through the day and will cover a variety of topics including business support and supply chain development.

Seminars will include presentations from Sealine, RNLI, Machtech and the latest information from the Technology Strategy Board, UKTI, SEMTA, Manufacturing Advisory Service and Transport Knowledge Transfer Network. They will offer guidance and support to those within the supply chain and how they can benefit from working more effectively together.

This is a key opportunity for all involved to take advantage of being able to attend several meetings in a single day plus the chance to be involved in a great networking environment to build contacts and develop business relationships.

If you are a supplier of products or services relevant to the marine industry and you are interested in further information or attending please find all information on the Conference here.
