The IAP programme is an initiative that supports the development of new operational services across all market sectors - combining ‘Space Assets’ (such as Telecommunications, Earth Observation, Navigation and Human Space flight technologies) with others.These include:
 
• Implementing satellite communications, navigation and observation services to improve civil resilience during flooding emergencies
• The development of systems to avoid bird strikes, by tracking bird migrations,  for both military and civil aviation use.
         Combining terrestrial and satellite communications with traditional reporting systems and satellite navigation to improve decision making and the management of operations within the UK railway network.
         Monitoring and managing urban pollution levels and associated road traffic flows.
         Telemedicine services for passengers on long-haul flights.
