Lucas Oil's Bob Patison takes part in 'Motorsport in America' Workshop
18 Sep 2012
Lucas Oil's Executive Vice President and Corporate General Counsel, Bob Patison will join a group of top American company execs for an early-morning (it'll be lunch time already in England!) in a Trans-Atlantic phone link-up on September 18.
The special phone call will bring together a wide range of European motorsports companies and organizations with a number of equally-active American companies to compare notes and work together toward the advancement of motorsport in general around the world.
This very special group conversation takes place under the auspices of the Motorsports Industry Association, one of the worlds's leading trade association for the motorsport, performance engineering, services and tuning sectors. The "MIA" represents the specialized needs of the highly successful global industry as it undergoes continuing rapid development throughout the world.
The USA is considered the number one motorsports market in the world and this meeting is something of prelude to the two giant American motorsports trades show: PRI (in Orlando, Florida Nov. 29 - Dec.1) and the IMIS Show (in Indianapolis on December 6-8).
Both shows are always well-attended by many European segments of the motorsports industries, and this workshop/teleconference will be used by many visitors to focus their attention on specific markets when they attend either or both shows.
Taking part along with Patison on the "Stateside" end of the conference call will be: Frank Simonetti, USA Motorsports manager- Eibach Group, Martin Christensen, Owner - All German Auto and All German Motorsports, Mike Fisher - Managing Director NASCAR Research and Development Center, and a number of other prominent industry leaders from the wide world of American high performance.
A few of the participants from across the sea include: David Cunliffe and Martin Dewey of DC Electronics Motorsports Specialists, Michael Collins of Penso Consulting, Davina Gottschalk of Delivered On Time, John Colby of GEMS Performance Electronics, Richard Clews of Induction Technology Group, and Richard Clay of Amber Composites. The conference will be moderated by senior MIA staff members.
"We were very pleased and honored to have been asked to take part in this workshop," said Patison, "As we've always proudly stated, our products are made in America and sold around the world. With Lucas Oil Products branches now in Los Angeles, Indiana, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom, we fully understand the importance of this sort of information-sharing with companies that are advancing the state of high performance motoring."
Patison also serves as the president of the new and very promotionally-minded, Lucas-owned MAVTV cable channel which last week put its name on the championship-deciding 500-mile Izod IndyCar race at Auto Club Speedway Saturday night Sept. 15.
"We're taking much of the same approach to building a whole new TV network as we did building our line of lubricants and car care products. We refer to MAVTV as: 'American Real' and those words fit right into the Lucas Oil philosophy because Lucas has been operating that way since its beginning over 25 years ago. Good products, good service and constant improvement," Patison concluded, "I'm really looking forward to participating in this unique conference, our company has got a lot of great friends around the world ... and making some new ones never hurts either!"
