Honda F1 had been a very supportive member of the MIA, so it was only reasonable for the MIA to do what it could to help secure a new future for the team. Anything we could do to retain the spending power of an F1 organisation within the industry would benefit our members, so we did all we could.
It was a particular pleasure to help the management, whom we knew well, secure their buy-out and re-formation as Brawn GP. Many recall the excellent evening and insightful interview with Ross Brawn at Woburn Abbey just TWO years ago during his sabbatical from motorsport.
Chris Aylett, MIA CEO said “ The attached letter was kind, unexpected and yet most welcome. It explains the unusual areas in which the MIA helped Brawn GP management move quickly to secure the future of their business, their employees and many suppliers too. This is the unique value of the MIA - a global business community organisation which is being recognised more, by many, every day. We were delighted to help this great new team. ”
The excellent on-track test results of this new team are being enjoyed by everyone. On behalf of all MIA members, we wish the whole team every success, on and off the track, throughout 2009 and beyond.
