All MIA members, and their golfing friends, are invited to enter the Royal Automobile Club’s inaugural Charity Golf Tournament, exclusively for players from the motorsport and automotive industries. This will be held at the magnificent, par 72, Old Course at Woodcote Park, Surrey. The perfect setting for a fantastic day of golf on Tuesday 24th April 2012.
This new competition, for the RAC Charity Cup, will be supported by Sky Sports. It is open to 20 teams of four, with the RAC trophy going to the team with the highest score over 18 holes.
In addition to the prestigious Royal Automobile Club trophy, prizes will be also be awarded to individual scorers, as well as a number of special awards, including ‘the nearest pin’ and others to be confirmed nearer to the event.
Entry fees are £560 for each team of four players. This will cover:
- Welcome pack with balls and tees;
- Light lunch and complimentary refreshments;
- Golf competition over the old course;
- First-class dinner, including wine, in one of Woodcote Park’s magnificent dining rooms;
- Souvenir photograph of your team;
- Charitable donation
The event aims to raise money for the Henry Surtees Foundation – which assists people with brain and physical injuries, provides education and helps young people by developing their skills so they can participate in society, and BEN – the UK’s only charity for those who work, or have worked, in the automotive and motorsport industries, as well as their dependants.
The timetable for the day is as follows:
- Noon Light lunch
- 13:00 Shotgun start
- 18:30 Reception
- 19:00 Dinner
- 21:00 Prize giving / Auction (TBC)
- 21:30 Event ends
There is no maximum handicap to participate, and certificates may be required. The Stableford scoring system will be used, with the best two balls from each team counting on each hole.
