‘Fast Forward – 20 ways F1 and motorsport is changing our world’

The UK Motorsport industry delivers high-tech engineering solutions and value to other sectors of the economy

Low Carbon - Medical - Defence – Space – Safety - Transport

Many witness the world-beating success of Britain’s motorsport industry on the race track in front of an audience of millions. Few know of the unique and valuable spin-outs, from this R&D based engineering success, into other important sectors of the UK economy. The MIA has organised an enjoyable, short event for Parliamentarians to understand this added value more clearly.

In partnership with the Science Museum in Kensington, the MIA has invited MPs and Lords to a private viewing of the hugely popular "Fast Forward" exhibition in early September.

The exhibition showcases examples where motorsport technology impacts everyday life -  from changing the way we improve baby care, save energy in our cars, design sports equipment, maintain heating systems in our homes and help Doctors at Great Ormond Street Hospital learn new life-saving teamwork from F1 pit-stops!

The visit will explain unique products including the Baby Pod II, the Solar B Probe and the Ovei Wellbeing Capsule from McLaren Applied Technologies amongst many others.

This amazing exhibition from innovative British companies demonstrates diversity and sophistication of world-class advanced high-tech performance engineering, linked to motorsport, and the importance of this valuable industry.

Details of the exhibition can be found at http://www.sciencemuseum.org.uk/visitmuseum/galleries/fast_forward.aspx
