Millbrook has reached a new health and safety milestone, having amassed over 1.7 million hours without a lost work day incident – that’s over 31 straight months without an accident on-site resulting in injury-related absence. This has been achieved by a continued drive to make safety a number one priority for staff, contractors, clients and visitors, which amounts to more than 40,000 people on site each year.
Millbrook’s health and safety officer, John Few, comments: “Health and safety is of critical importance to Millbrook and achieving more than two and a half years without a lost work day is testament to the dedication of our staff and our internal policies. We have a strict risk assessment and near miss incident reporting system and we don’t leave any margin for error, which extends across the whole business.
“Part of learning and maintaining our position as one of the world’s leading vehicle test and development facilities is ensuring employees and clients can carry out work on-site, secure in the knowledge that every step has been taken to keep them safe.”
