Motorsport Foundation®, was founded by the MIA to generate and provide funds that support good causes within the industry and the sport.
How does the Motorsport Foundation® benefit the sport and industry?
The Foundation supports activities which promote increased participation in motorsport. New competitors, audiences and talent create a greater demand for motorsport services and equipment and boost business in the UK. Events showcasing the UK’s motorsport pedigree encourage school children and students to look to a career in Britain’s high performance engineering industry.
How does Motorsport Foundation® generate funds?
Over past years, the Foundation has maintained steady progress in securing substantial pledges of funds and sponsorships - organisations from local car clubs to leading Formula 1 Teams have opened their doors to the general public, helping to reveal a whole range of ways to become involved in motorsport.
What projects does the Foundation spend its funds on?
The Foundation focuses fund distribution on two immediately valuable areas: Marketing programmes to increase awareness of motorsport; and the establishment of an ongoing ‘National Motorsport Week’ in partnership with the motorsport community.
What structure operates the Motorsport Foundation®?
The Motorsport Foundation® is a company limited by guarantee and part of the MIA. In due course, the Motorsport Foundation® intends to have a charitable subsidiary as defined by the Charity Commission (there will be charitable and ‘non-charitable’ activities of the Foundation - hence the need for a subsidiary).
How can you help?
By offering your support and endorsement to the Foundation by volunteering your time to organise fundraising events including National Motorsport Week and contributing funds directly to the Motorsport Foundation® itself.
Where is the Motorsport Foundation® located?
At the offices of the MIA in Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire.
