A new 36 page booklet, “Motorsport in Battledress”, is about a club with a difference because it covers the life of the Bar-None Motor Cycle Club which was formed in Egypt actually during the Second World War to help keep servicemen in the Middle East occupied before repatriation.
Written by Cliff Gaskin, who was in the RAF and a member of the Club’s organising committee, the publication describes how the club operated and ran several successful motorcycle events - some in the shadow of the Pyramids. At least one attracted over 6000 spectators.
