Changan, one of China's leading car makers, are doubling the size of their R&D centre at the No.1 Nottingham Science Park; where they focus on engine and transmission systems including hybrid and electric cars.
Changan will invest £20m in the operation over the coming five years. Their Nottingham base, which currently employs 25 people, is the car maker’s first UK research and development centre. By 2013, Changan R&D aims to have a workforce of 200, many of which will be engineering graduates from Nottingham’s universities, with whom the company is closely linked.
