Motorsport vs green motorsport: competing or complementing?
Wednesday 16 December 2009, 4-7pm
Silverstone Innovation Centre, Northamptonshire
Motorsport is an incredibly resource-intensive sector, and various efforts have been made to make the sport more environmentally friendly, but is this ever going to be achievable?
There is an emerging green motorsport sector with an emphasis on electric vehicles, but is there scope for these 2 sectors to merge? Can the electric vehicles ever compete with the mainstream vehicles? Is electric the answer?
Ultimately, what can be done to make the mainstream motorsport sector more green, whilst keeping the excitement and passion from participants and supporters?
Chaired by Chris Aylett from the Motorsport Industry Association, and supported by a panel of industry representatives, you will get the chance to debate some of the issues around these two sectors.
Why should I go?
If you are a small to medium enterprise involved in motorsport or green motorsport, you cannot afford to miss this exciting event bringing together representatives from both sides of the sector.
Who are we?
The Transport iNet – funded by East Midlands Development Agency and the European Regional Development Fund – aims to promote innovation in this sector to increase business profits and contribute to the competitiveness of the regional economy.
