It was announced on Friday 15th July that George Lendrum has been appointed as Managing Director of RML Group Ltd.
George has had a 20 year career in the Motorsport industry having been instrumental in the rapid growth of Cambridge based Pi Research and has served on the Motorsport Industry Association Committee for the last ten years. As Divisional Managing Director, George led Pi through the transition to Ford ownership and back into the private sector as Cosworth Electronics, where he instigated and led a successful growth strategy based on diversifying the business into adjacent markets.
Most recently George has acted as a business consultant in the motorsport sector, defining and implementing a new direction for a long established motorsport valley business, before now returning to mainstream motorsport in a leadership role.
George Lendrum said:
“The opportunity to join RML and contribute to the development of the business was far too exciting for me to ignore. I have always regarded RML very highly as an organisation, and my reaction to being shown the facility and offered the position was simply one of delight and anticipation. The consistent, winning performances of RML in a variety of motorsport categories speak for themselves, and what’s clear is that the quality of the staff and their dedication to the business is central to that success. Now we have to develop new areas of business to enable a continuation of the growth that has been seen in the last few years.”

RML will return in 2011 to defend their titles in the FIA World Touring Car Championship, British Touring Car Championship and the ACO Le Mans Series LMP2 class, having claimed five titles last season.
