The rapidly-growing SCCA RallyCross program will hold 11 National Challenge events in 2009, including an East and West Championship. The season will be capped off with the third annual RallyCross National Championship.
The 2009 RallyCross season begins at Stafford Speedway Connecticut and Homestead Miami Speedway in Florida.. The pair represent opposite extremes as the Jan. 10 – 11 event in Connecticut will likely involve snow, and the Florida event, held Feb. 21 – 22, will enjoy temperatures in the upper 70s.
June is a busy month, with three RallyCross National Challenge events scheduled - Summit Point Motorsports Park, in Summit Point, West Virginia; Preble County Fair Grounds, in Eaton, Ohio and the last June event at Washington County Fairgrounds, in Hillsboro, Oregon.
Corcoran Lions Park just west of Minneapolis, Minnesota and Gateway International Raceway, in Madison, Illinois, will host events.
The East and West Championships are scheduled for September at National Trail Raceway, in Hebron, Ohio, will host the East Championship and the West Championship at Knott’s Soak City Water Park, in Chula Vista, California.
An 11th event hosted by the Detroit Region is also expected to be announced shortly.
The 2009 season comes to a close with the RallyCross National Championship. In its third year of existence, the event moves to the US Truck Driving School in Fountain, Colorado for the grand finale on October 9 – 11.
