Ross Kaiser (Radical UK Cup championship winner) has won the 2011 Sunoco Rolex 24 At Daytona Challenge and will be testing with Doran Racing at the Virginia International Raceway on the 19th and 20th of October.

Doran Racing has a long tradition of excellence on and off the race track. The Lebanon, Ohio-based company is widely regarded as one of the best operations ever in endurance sports car racing. It has a proven history of excellent return for its motorsports marketing partners and customers.

In 2002 Doran-Lista Racing won the Rolex 24hr At Daytona with a Dallara Judd.  Under Kevin Doran’s direction, the Doran Racing - prepared MOMO Ferrari was the first and only team in US history to win the 24 hours at Daytona, the 12 hours of Sebring and the Watkins Glen 6 hour race in the same year (1998).

The Sunoco Rolex 24 At Daytona is a competition between racers in high-calibre Sunoco-fuelled race championships in Europe, such as; the Avon Tires British GT Championship, the Cooper Tires British F3 International, Radical UK Cup and SPEED Sports Prototype Series. The highest point scorer wins a race seat in a Daytona Prototype at the 2011 Rolex 24 At Daytona race and in doing so be in a position to win the race. The point system will include 100 points for a victory, 75 points for second, 55 for third, down through 10th place. In addition, 20 points will be awarded to both the driver who wins the pole and the driver with the fastest race lap.

At the end of the season, the driver who accumulates the most points will be awarded with a driving spot in a Daytona Prototype, along with flight and accommodations for the 2011 Rolex 24 At Daytona. In addition, the winner of the challenge will participate in the January Test Days.  Sunoco will provide race fuel for the prize winner’s Daytona Prototype throughout the Rolex 24 weekend and test.  The 2011 Daytona Prototype team will be determined at a later date.
