SMMT Open Forum Invitation - 21 March 2013

06 Feb 2013

SMMT Open Forum invitation:
Thursday 21 March, 09:00 – 14:00
Heart of England Conference and Events Centre, Meriden Road, Fillongley, Coventry, West Midlands, CV7 8DX

SMMT’s next Open Forum event will take place on 21 March in Coventry. This free event will highlight the opportunities available in the UK automotive supply chain and include a number of presentations from leading figures in the industry, Q&A sessions, and multiple networking and exhibition opportunities.

As we plan for the future, we can reflect on a number of recent achievements for UK automotive, including more than £6 billion of investment announced by automotive companies over the past two years. UK car manufacturing also provided a positive boost in 2012, with volumes at their highest since 2008, exceeding 1.5 million and record levels of exports with over 1.2 million vehicles. 2013 will prove to be a critical year for the industry and it will be important that all stakeholders, both large and small work together to maintain the progress we have made.

The next Open Forum event will explore multiple themes. In the first half of the event there will be an update from the Automotive Council Supply Chain Group and Technology Group, highlighting the key work streams and priorities in 2013. Speakers will also include General Motors, Caparo Materials Engineering and Nissan Europe. Each speaker will offer insights into their respective companies, their plans in the UK and insights on the UK automotive supply chain.
