The service being offered is to generate sales for your company in the US. This can be achieved in a number of ways from providing a mentoring service and contacts for your sales department, to representing and establishing a presence for your company in the US market.
The MIA has been promoting sales from the US since it foundation as the single largest motorsport market in the world. During this time they have seen a number of successful business cases and the first step is the most difficult.
To be successful in the US market place requires providing an exceptional service with regular contact with the customer.
The adage that Great Britain and the United States are two countries divided by the same language is important, as it highlights the significantly different cultures between the two. The understanding of this cultural divide is critical to the development of business.
There are a number of routes to achieve US sales, from opening and operating a facility in the US to attending the PRI show with the MIA. The former is excellent but high risk and the later interesting but requires significant follow up.
To substantiate the offer to you, my background in the US market over the last 5 years has been primary with Grainger and Worrall. In the US we have made significant sales both in motorsport, primary NASCAR, and automotive with the vehicle and engine manufactures plus their engineering supply base.
In the past I have been the major contributor to the success of Cosworth and AVL in establishing their operations in South East Michigan. To enable this I lived in the US between 1994 and 1998.
