The MIA is a member of the CBI, the largest business lobbying group in the UK on behalf of all our corporate members. The CBI is currently putting together its response to the government’s red tape challenge review of employment law.
This review is looking at the policies and regulation that place requirements on employers. It is asking whether they are still necessary and appropriate, whether they could be simplified, or better implemented and enforced.
The response is likely to set out that to help boost growth and jobs, the government needs to increase flexibility, make it easier and less costly to hire and manage a workforce and remove barriers to job creation, while maintaining a core of rights for the workforce. The emphasis will be on limiting state intervention in basic workplace relations.
CBI would appreciate specific input from a variety of sectors of industry, and examples of where current regulations do hinder or place unnecessary burden on employers. If you would like to feed in to the response please email Maxine.cahal@cbi.org.uk.
