Silverstone, the home of British motor racing, has been named as the “best conference and meeting venue in the UK” by Business Development Research Consultant’s (BDRC) VenueVerdict which analysed 150 venues, placing them in a league table based on post-event feedback from visitors.
Silverstone, which drew more than 300,000 visitors to the British Grand Prix in June, was ranked number one.
“Diversification is key to the success of Silverstone,” said Richard Phillips, managing director of Silverstone Circuits Limited. “We are not just a race circuit but a centre for business, a music venue, a base for performance manufacturers and much more.
“The model we have now will only improve. We run 57 promoted events here throughout the year, which includes events like the Adidas Silverstone Half Marathon, as well as hiring out the circuit and our various services.”
Earlier this month, Silverstone confirmed the date for the MotoGP 2010 British Grand Prix, which will be held on June 6th next year.
