Sir Stirling Moss opens new Goodridge extension

Goodridge celebrated its 40th year in business on Monday July 13th, with the opening by Sir Stirling Moss, of the new £500,000 extension to its headquarters near Exeter Airport. Sir Stirling also opened the original factory, on the same site, 20 years ago.

Sir Stirling commented “It’s the best product of its kind, there is only one Goodridge and they are as good as it gets. When I buy a car and it does not have Goodridge already fitted I remove it and replace it with Goodridge products”.

On display were vehicles that feature Goodridge products including a Bentley, Farbio and Jaguar. Sponsorship vehicles were also featured with a 2008 winning Le Mans car from Aston Martin Racing and a British Superbike.  There was an opportunity to view the factory’s engineering facility which over the years has produced parts for Formula 1, Nascar, IRL and World Rally Car.

The company was founded in Totnes by Stuart Goodridge 40 years ago and has grown to become an established global brand. Further, in this, its 40th year, Goodridge is on track for another record year. Group Chairman, Stuart Goodridge said "We have come a very long way since our original days in Totnes. I am proud of our customer base, our supplier base and particularly proud of our 240 strong worldwide workforce, who are second to none, and as devoted as I am to our ongoing success".

Summing up the day Group Managing Director, Bill Ray said "Goodridge is having an extremely good year, winning share in a very competitive market. By focusing on our core principles of great service and never compromising on quality, our customers have had the confidence to award Goodridge more business than in any other year and we are thrilled that this should happen in this, our 40th anniversary year."

Goodridge is a leading global supplier of high performance fluid transfer systems that offers a unique combination of design, technology and innovation to the automotive, motorcycle, industrial hydraulic and motorsports industries. With nine manufacturing operations in seven countries, over 240 employees and a turnover of circa £30 million,
