I have just received the following message from one of our F1 friends. The team want any advice possible, even direction towards any institution or organisation that may have expert knowledge on this specialist area where the mix of extreme temperatures and carbon has been resolved. All ideas welcome....
“ Our Chief Designer asks if any MIA member can provide advice on using carbon (or any other composites) in very hot places. We have been looking to Rolls Royce Aero and BAE Systems for their help, but maybe members have other suggestions or introductions as to where we could find innovative solutions. Obviously this is connected to the recent development where hot exhaust gases are directed to escape through the rear floor area to help with aerodynamics, and where we need to gain more knowledge fast.”
They have asked that, in the first instance, anyone who wants to reply should do so to the MIA Office. I have asked Tara Curzon – tara.curzon@the-mia.com - to collate all your replies and then I will personally pass them along to the team, who can then choose whether to reply or not.
Best regards
Chris Aylett - CEO
