This seminar is one of a number Intellectual Property training courses provided by Keltie. The focus of this course is on the practical aspects of selecting, protecting and managing trademarks.

- The course has a practical emphasis, with presentation intermixed with case studies and structuredexercises with the tutors.
- The course will cover the basics of trade mark law and practice and explain how the UK Intellectual Property Office and the Community Trade Mark Office operate.
- The course will provide also a marketing perspective with insights on the interaction of trade marks law and the marketing principles.
Course tutors:
- Manuela Macchi, Partner at Keltie - Manuela has over eleven years experience in the trademark profession and handles a number of worldwide trade mark portfolios being responsible for their overall trade mark strategy.
- Azhar Sadique, Keltie - Azhar is regularly involved in the filing and prosecution of UK, Community and International trade mark and design applications. He also frequently conducts clearance searches and has been involved in preparing worldwide filing strategies and assignment projects.
- Charles Shiplee, Business Director of beaconbrands - Charles has worked in the advertising industry for over 30 years. He understands the importance and value of strong trade marks having helped individual brands for companies such as Nestle, Mars, Panasonic and British American Tobacco become household names.
