UK Space Conference: ‘The new space economy’ - Monday 04 - Tuesday 05 July 2011

STFC Innovations Ltd and the European Space Agency’s Technology Transfer Programmes Office are inviting MIA members to attend SpaceTech 2011 on Monday 4th July.

They welcome members of high technology industries, and research organisations, to promote new and novel technologies, discuss a range of industrial challenges and find solutions where non-space technology can lend a hand with some challenging issues in the Space sector.

The aim of the UK Space Conference 2011 is to enable dialogue and exchange information between government, industry, and the research community, and highlight the connections between the space sector and other sectors in the UK economy. The UK Space Conference will have a varied programme, with a platform for policy announcements, industry priorities and perspectives, and the spotlight on key innovations and research outcomes that will help shape the sector. The conference will also enable the community to engage with the UK Space Agency and help set the priorities for the Agency's leadership in the UK space sector.

With attendees from across the country and around the world, the UK Space Conference will:

  • build links between industry, academia and the public sector by acting as a networking hub to increase collaborative working
  • provide an opportunity for students to learn about space careers prospects and for industry to recruit motivated and skilled people
  • increase knowledge at all levels on national space policy and the UK space programme
  • be a showcase for UK excellence in the space sector to the wider public
  • help demonstrate the UK's global leadership in the space sector and provide opportunities for international collaboration and investment
