Andy Granatelli and his amazing life story is simply a legend in world motorsport. Since 1946 - for nearly 50 years - his name was linked with motor racing and speed adventures: From drag racing and land speed records to NASCAR and the STP turbine car. He was the man who brought the STP brand to motorsport - being the first to use motorsport to grow a tuning brand. STP became one of the world’s most recognised logos: In motorsport from F1 to rallying and every other series besides.
Andy has sent this personal message to all MIA members....
“I am looking for your help in finding the following items for my Hall of Fame Museum, which will open late this year in Auburn, Indiana:
I need information on, and the whereabouts of, any speed equipment or cars built by Grancor Automotive Specialists (Granatelli Corporation) like Ford Flathead motors, heads, manifolds, etc.
I am also looking for information on or the whereabouts of any racecars which I owned or built, including Indy cars, street rods, Bonneville cars or a Fordillac.
I will consider a loan, a donation or I will purchase the items. No matter what, I would like to know what's out there and hope you can help me find it.
Andy can be contacted at mrindy500@yahoo.com.
Thank you,
Andy Granatelli”
