The British Offshore Powerboat Club and their Chairman, Lord Beaverbrook generously invite all MIA members and their guests to join them for a VIP trip to Cowes for the Cowes-Torquay-Cowes Powerboat race.

Friday 28 August 2009 - Scrutineering Day
Perfect chance to walk the pits and talk with all engineers, drivers and crews.  MIA Members and their guests will receive must sought after Pit Passes from Race Control and be free to spend the day on the waterside and in the paddock with the boats.  In the evening, join the Welcome Reception with competitors and crews at The Royal Squadron, then an option to enjoy a Barbeque at the Royal Corinthian Yacht Club.

Saturday 29 August 2009 - Race Day
Guests are invited on board to the official Start Boat at 9:00am to enjoy the exhilarating experience of the offshore start of this world famous race. The Start Boat leads all 60 race boats down the Solent - and then drops the flag off Lymington, letting loose thousands of horsepower into the English Channel. Some boats race to Torquay and some to Poole and back. 

Members and their guests then return to Cowes to enjoy time on the quayside and in the pubs and restaurants in this delightful town - awaiting the racers' return.

Your day will include VIP pit passes with access to all areas, the competitors and their boats offering you the chance to view up close these magnificent craft and take in some of the atmosphere of this very special day.

The day will end with attendance at the Prize Giving ceremony at The Royal Yacht Squadron, a cash bar will be open for this part of the day for you to purchase drinks for yourself and guests.
