Motorsport Employers Group Meeting - 16 July 2008

Improve your HR Knowledge and put Forward your Views to Government Decision Makers

You may know that the Motorsport Industry Association (MIA) runs a number of Special Interest Groups, one of the most enduring is the Motorsport Employers group (MEG). The purpose of this group is to bring together executives who deal with diverse employment issues which arise when running a motorsport business.

MEG has historically attracted the larger companies in our sector, many of which employ HR professionals.  However, the discussion topics impact smaller companies as well, which do not employ specialist HR cover and find attendance at MEG hugely advantageous.  MEG provides expertise, advice, direction and the benefit of experience of from other attendees/members in dealing with the sea of bureaucracy and red tape with which we are all beset. By sharing knowledge amongst colleagues, solutions are found more effectively and at minimal cost.

MEG provides an excellent opportunity to discuss issues involving:
  • Employment and HR
  • Government legislation and its impacts
  • The industry’s contribution to the education sector, and establish what is required from educators
  • General legal issues of a wide variety
  • Current industry issues affecting employment

Attendance is free of charge to MIA members who are encouraged to invite non-members to attend to widen the knowledge available and so they can appreciate the benefits of MIA membership. Companies, new to the MIA may be unaware of this very useful special interest group. We wish to encourage all to come along to share problems and questions regarding employment.
